Black Rider and Blue Lady

It was a busy and varied weekend in Middle Earth. My dwarf, elf, and hobbit all saw activity.

My dwarf reached 39 and is three-quarters of the way to 40. In addition to a slew of ordinary quests, he also worked on the main epic storyline quest. The chapters completed over the weekend involved investigating what happened to the Nazgul after they were washed downstream at The Ford of Bruinen. He found the corpse of one of the horses. Further investigations lie ahead. We found a barrel of pipeweed, some of which we delivered to Pippin in Rivendell, but I retained some of it; it is clearly made by some wizard as I can blow smoke rings in the shape of a dove which can be seen by all around and not just those smoking the weed. He is also looking for the metal needed to reforge Aragon’s sword and as part of that quest he met with a mysterious woman called The Blue Lady.

I was doing some crafting work with my elf on Friday night when I saw a call for help with the quests in the Great Barrow; a wight invested set of tunnels in the Barrow Downs that lie between The Old Forest and Bree. My dwarf had not explored that area, so I leapt at the opportunity and joined the group. Despite a couple of minor setbacks, the adventure went well and we accomplished our goals and my elf gained a couple of levels and is now 24. I also worked on his farming; Sunday morning is obviously a popular time for people to sort through seeds as can be seen from this busy scene.

The son of one of our group also plays and he needed help with some quests that his newly created elven Runekeeper was working on. We joined him with three small hobbit characters that we have. Small in stature and level. It provided a rare opportunity for me to play a fighter; something I did not do in Everquest2 or here. It went well, despite the crazy behaviour of another hobbit who joined us and tended to rush ahead and attract the attention of more monsters than we wanted to handle at once. My hobbit guardian progressed from 12 to 14, but it will probably be several more weeks before he adventures again.
